{30*Discobolus} Bin-Packing Algorithm

A bin-packing algorithm – normally used for the transport or 3d printing industry – is used on a 3d file of the discobolus, 30 times multiplied. This algorithm can calculate the optimal – occupying as less space as possible – packaging of irregular objects in a container. The outcome of the calculation is reassambled by the artist with the help of cable ties.

Hereby we can notice that the computer doesnt take into account the tension of the muscles or the suggestion of energy in the image. It just calculates with certain coordinates in space.
